Shooting School Shotguns & Try guns

* Our Try Guns (above) - Yes! we own these, they are used almost daily, are kept in excellent working condition and are so adjustable they can be made to fit anybody - male, female, tall, short, light or heavy build, and can also be set up as a cross-over for those with opposite hand/eye dominance.

The shooting school has several shotguns for student use, and irrespective of the students height, weight, gender, handedness, dominant eye, or age, we are certainly able to find a gun which will fit you.

The shooting school also owns several "try" guns. Try guns are shotguns which can be adjusted to fit anybody, and are extremely useful for obtaining a full set of measurements for those wishing to instruct a gunsmith to adjust a gun to their specific requirement.

When using a try gun to obtain a set of measurements, it is often necessary to adjust, shoot a few clays, adjust again - and so on; until improvements become apparent. Unlike many organisations, the Essex Shooting School does not levy additional fees for this service. However, we do advise clients to book a double weekday timeslot. Both over-and-under and side-by-side try guns are available.

* It has been brought to our attention others have used copies of our try guns on their web site and/or advertising material - if your shooting coach posses the equipment and skills to use them, they will be very happy to demonstrate the try guns flexibility, and where appropriate, let you have a go using one - so please ask!
