Shotgun Cartridges

clay shooting shop - lead, steel and bismuth cartridges   Worried about recoil?

For teaching purposes, a cartridge which is very light on the shoulder is predominantly used

If you are concerned about recoil; most people are, please discuss this with your shooting coach - they will show you the techniques for holding the shotgun to reduce perceived recoil, and will select from a range of cartridges to find one which suits your shoulder and shooting style.

A Shotgun Certificate (SGC) is not necessary for those attending the clay shooting school. However, holders of a valid SGC, when attending for clay pigeon shooting, are able to:

  • Bring their own cartridges - no corkage fees applied

  • Purchase cartridges at the shooting shop - no corkage fees applied

  • Purchase cartridges for use elsewhere

Standard lead shot is available for general use - several weights and sizes, and as keen wildfowlers ourselves, a good selection of steel and bismuth is always available from stock.
